Table 1-5ck: Criteria for the classification of SLE

A patient is classified as having SLE if at least 4 of the 11 criteria are met.

Malar Rash
Discoid Rash
Photosensitivity
Oral Ulcers
Arthritis
Serositis
Kidney Disease (at least 1 of 3)
– > 0.5 g/d Proteinuria
– ≥ 3+ Dipstick Proteinuria
– Cellular Casts
Neurologic Disease (at least 1 of 2)
– Seizures
– Psychosis (Without Other Cause)
Hematologic Disorders (at least 1 of 3)
– Hemolytic Anemia
– Leukopenia (< 4000/mcL [4.0 x 109/L]), or Lymphopenia (< 1500/mcL [1.5 x 109/L])
– Thrombocytopenia (< 100,000/mcL [100 x 109/L])
Immunologic Abnormalities (at least 1 of 3)
– Antibody to Native DNA
– Antibody to Sm
– Antibodies to Antiphospholipid Antibodies Based On: (1) IgG or IgM Anti-Cardiolipin Antibodies, (2) Lupus Anticoagulant, or (3) False-Positive Serologic Test for Syphilis
